Every Cuellar piece starts as an idea and ends as an heirloom — designed entirely from scratch, hand engraved, and made only once. Here's exactly how we take you from that first email to a finished piece on your hand, wherever you are in the world.

Step 1: Send us your idea

Email us with your idea, inspiration, or a symbol you'd like to incorporate. It doesn't need to be a polished concept, but the more specific you can be, the smoother the process — reference photos, a Pinterest board, a sketch, or a clear description of the meaning you want the piece to carry all help.

Step 2: We review and respond

We look over what you've sent and reply with initial feedback — our first read on how your idea could translate into a piece, along with any early questions.

Step 3: Video consultation

We schedule a video call to go through every detail: ring size, metal choice, shape, stone options, and how your symbol or idea will actually take form in the design. If you have a color in mind but aren't sure on the specific stone, that's enough to start with — we'll help you find the right one.

Step 4: Quote

Within a few days of your consultation, we send a written quote covering the full piece.

Step 5: Deposit

Once you approve the quote, we collect a 50% deposit. This begins your project and moves you into the design phase.

Step 6: First design sketch

A few days after your deposit clears, we send your first hand-drawn digital illustration — a detailed sketch reflecting every specification gathered during your consultation.

Step 7: Revisions

If anything needs adjusting, your first round of changes is free, and so is your second. A third round carries a $200 fee, since changes at that point usually reflect a bigger shift in direction rather than a small tweak.

Step 8: Manufacture

Once you approve the final design, we begin making your piece — including any hand engraving, stone setting, and, where applicable, enamel work.

Step 9: Timeline

From sketch approval to finished piece, plan for 60 to 90 days — we always work to finish as soon as possible within that window. If you have a specific date in mind, like a proposal, reach out early and let us know; for time-sensitive requests, we also offer a "jump the line" option on a case-by-case basis for an additional fee.

Step 10: Final payment

Once your piece is complete, we send photos and video of the finished piece along with the final invoice for the remaining 50%. Your piece enters the shipping queue once that payment clears.

Step 11: Shipping

We ship via FedEx on the fastest available service, insured for a value based on the price of your piece — typically 1–2 days within the US and around 5 days internationally. We also offer white glove delivery, where one of our representatives personally hand-delivers your piece to you anywhere in the world; ask about pricing and details during your video consultation.

A few things worth knowing along the way:

• Sizing: We recommend getting properly sized at any local jewelry store before ordering. If a piece needs resizing after it arrives, send it back to us — we offer this free of charge, though pieces engraved all the way around can be difficult to resize without affecting the engraving, and set stones may need to be reset as the metal shifts. Pieces with enamel work cannot be resized, so sizing accuracy matters most upfront for those.
